Monday
AM - Snatch intense + Clean and Jerk intense + SN or C&J battery
A. High Hang Power Snatch off blocks, build to a heavy single
B. Above Knee Hang Power Clean Cluster, 1.1 x 5 sets, 4 min
C. AMRAP Squat Clean Thruster @ 135lb in 5 minutes
A. 135#, didn't go any higher (video below)
B. 170#, 175#, 185#, 195#, 200# x 1 (video below)
C. 22 reps (5 reps in min 1, 4 reps in min 2, 3, 4, 5 reps in min 5)
Notes:
A. High hang power snatch felt good, more in me here
B. Really surprised myself here. I started with 170# and honestly 170#/175#/185# all felt easy. I didn't expect that at all, 195# felt solid. I decided to do another set just to see how I would do at 200#....I know I have 200#, just need to pop that first rep up more so it won't wipe me out as much. Felt really good here, lots of POP
C. No idea how to pace this, thrusters felt speedy today, I just hesitated to speed up my pace too soon. Able to finish with a faster pace than the middle. No failed attempts here, really not sure how to do "better" here without burning out too early. Legs and shoulders felt strong.
Definitely an "on" session
PM - LEnd + MAP Z1
4 sets @ 97%:
30 sec AMRAP Power Snatch @ 75lbs
30 sec Airdyne
30 sec Burpees
Rest 9 min b/t sets
+
20 minute Airdyne @ 50% effort
Completed, I think this is the first time I have done airdyne in the middle of a lactate endurance interval rather than at the end. Liked these movements, my legs surprisingly held up well, last week's squat cleans was much rougher on the quads. These were definitely tough, felt very lactic and very high breathing by the end of each interval but didn't feel like I was really moving all that fast by the end. Power Snatch: 13 reps each round
Burpees: 12, 12, 11, 10
+
20 min AD complete
