Snatch!
A while ago I wrote about goals that I want to achieve. One of my goals was a 150# snatch by December. Today I trained at Catalyst Athletics, an olympic lifting gym, where I PR'd my snatch! Earlier this week I had hit 140# which was a PR, and today I added over 10# on that PR, hitting 69 kg (151.8#). After receiving proper coaching on olympic lifting, things are starting to come together. The snatch used to piss me off so much because I never knew what I was doing and even the slightest amount of weight gave me trouble. Now I enjoy snatches, it is one of my favorite lifts because I now know what to do, and when I don't make a lift, I know what I did wrong and how to fix it. My plan is to keep practicing. On Monday my PR was 135#, Wednesday my PR was 140#, and today (Saturday) my PR is 151.8#. That's over 15# added less than a week. As a start to reach my potential, PR's will be harder to hit, but I still have a lot of room for improvement because technique (not strength) remains my limiting factor.
