A little behind in posting. I switched up my training for Friday to get in Saturday's am session so I could enjoy a day of snowboarding without having to work out in the altitude. The previous few times I have trained at my cabin, the work outs have not gone very well. Saturday's AM session was an important retest for myself, to know where I am at. I re tested 12.5 and attacked it very differently than last year in the open. Going into it I was tired... my body was sore already and I felt pretty drained, but I knew that I would do much better in these conditions than waking up Saturday morning at my cabin and trying to attack this with intensity in the snow. While I feel really bad that I truly didn't follow this week's programming... I am so glad I did it because I was happy with the results and Saturday morning was very peaceful. It was nice to change up my day for a bit. I love snowboarding, it might be my favorite thing to do in the world, especially on a day like today. The lower part of the mountain, which contained nothing but untouched powder, opened around 11am and I spent the remainder of the day there. The weather was great and the people are always good company, everyone seems to simply enjoy life on the mountain which is good because around town where I live I feel like most people just need to take a chillll pillll. Anyways, here are some notes to myself when I look back at this post when 13.5 comes along
1. Attack this at 85% because I'll want to move just as quick, if not quicker in the end than in the beginning. The key is to actually not try to hard and I'll do better this way.
2. 3, 6, 9 unbroken then break it up
3. Use a box to get to the pull up bar
4. Supinated grip butterfly pull ups seemed to work here... weird but they were EZ
5. Relax, walk from thrusters to bar, use this time to breathe.
Friday

PM - MAP Rowing
5 x 90 sec Row @ 90%+/180 sec complete rest on Rower - damper 5
About 420 m
Saturday
"Open 12.5"
116 reps compared to 113 Felt WAY better, I could breathe!!! Muscular fatigue was hitting first on the thrusters, and my shoulders were the problem not my legs. I felt great throughout and know I can get somewhere close to 125, because once I get through the set of thrusters the pull ups are the quicker reps and they were also the easier of the two during this test. For the first time ever I looked at the clock 2 mins into it, and was almost worried I would run out of time before I got the reps I could get; usually I look at the clock 2 mins into it and realize I still have 5 mins and worry about how I will survive those 5 horrible mins.

10 min rest

3 rounds for time wearing a 20lb vest:
Run 400m
15 Burpees to 6" OH
11:23 Felt slow. Weight vest was way too floppy for burpees, I spent too much time trying to adjust it after a few burpees. I should have set that up better.
